This work by Andrew Thomas references the industrial community of Seaview, the graceful line of the Wainuiomata Hills in the distance. It has the curves and strength of an albatross wing.
Andrew says "It has this sense of many ideas in it. Because it's on the centre of the roundabout, it changes its shape as you move around it."
Trust member Allan Brown lead the development and installation of Lightwing. He particularly liked the curved, tapered and hollow structures. But he also appreciated the collaboration of a wide range of people and organisations - Hutt City Council, E Tu Awakairangi Hutt Public Art Trust, Wellington Water, the Seaview Business Association, and several local businesses.
Local businesses who contributed to the project include Dulux Paints, GK Shaw, MJH Engineering, Seaview Blasting, and Workshop e.
